I get asked quite often what the difference is between airbrush makeup and traditional makeup? So my hope is to explain the differences between the two so you might have a better idea of which would be best for your wedding day.
Personally, both airbrush and traditional makeup have their pros and cons, both applications should be able to uphold through your big day. I have done many brides with traditional techniques, and I’ve also done many brides with airbrushing techniques there are pluses and minuses to both. In the end the decision should be which feels best is for the bride.
So as you would suspect, the application of traditional foundation will be of thicker consistency. And depending on the artist, it usually takes a bit longer applying it on the skin as well. However, because there are many more cosmetics companies developing traditional foundation, there is an array of products that may be used spanning from light to full coverage, oil-free, etc.
In the long run airbrush makeup can lasts longer mainly because it's an ultra fine concentrated mist that absorbs directly into the skin. Not like traditional foundation that sits on top of the skin. Airbrushed makeup sprays a fine mist of foundation for a consistent, even application the makeup its self is thinner than regular formulas so the application is lightweight and helps with soft even coverage for imperfections. The final result gives you a very natural, yet very finished and polished look.
Airbrush makeup is buildable when it comes to coverage. It doesn’t just provide light natural finish the coverage of airbrush is easily adjustable and controlled by the the trigger on the gun and the air pressure settings. However there are things that effect the over all look of airbrush like excess hair or dry skin. The fine mist will pick up any fine hairs or dry skin patches. Beginning a daily beauty regimen by exfoliating, cleansing, toning, and moisturizing morning and night can make a huge difference in the appearance of your skin and your makeup application whether it be traditional airbrush foundation.
